Inspired by obsolete Telmex telephone booths, Limbo reinterprets the idea of a transitional space as a domestic system for temporarily storing objects before they find their place.

Inspired by obsolete Telmex telephone booths, Limbo reinterprets the idea of a transitional space as a domestic system for temporarily storing objects before they find their place.

In México , obsolete Telmex telephone booths remain as remnants of a technological past, occupying the city despite having lost their original function. Once essential points of communication, they now exist in a state between usefulness and obsolescence, often becoming temporary spaces where objects are left behind.

The Insight: Objects can also exist in transition, occupying temporary spaces before reaching their final destination. This condition can be transformed from an accidental behavior into an intentional domestic experience.

Limbo creates a provisional space within the home where objects can pause, accumulate, and remain without a defined destination. Rather than conventional storage, the system embraces temporary accumulation through a post-optimal and parafunctional approach, turning an overlooked behavior into an intentional spatial experience.

Its aluminum construction, industrial detailing, and Telmex-inspired palette establish a direct connection with the urban reference, transforming an obsolete structure into a contemporary domestic object.
